K-8 Car Line & Student Pickup

Simple, safe routines for drop-off and pickup

Our car line procedures are designed to help mornings and afternoons run as smoothly and safely as possible. These guidelines help protect students, support staff, and keep traffic moving well for everyone on campus.

Need-to-know details

Morning Drop-Off

Drop-off begins at 7:55 AM and ends at 8:30 AM. Students may not enter the building before 7:55 AM. If the 8:30 bell rings, your child is tardy.

Afternoon Pickup

Pickup begins at 3:00 PM and ends at 3:15 PM. Students may not walk to the parking lot until 3:15 PM, and they must be accompanied by an adult.

Pickup Changes

If someone else is picking up your child, you must notify the office beforehand. That person will need to show identification to the child’s teacher at pickup.

General car line rules

These basic rules apply to both morning drop-off and afternoon pickup and help keep students safe while vehicles are moving through campus.

Right-side enter/exit only

Children should enter and exit the vehicle from the right side only.

Use patrol stations

Only allow your child to exit your car at a patrol station.

Drive slowly

Please drive slowly while on campus, especially during drop-off and pickup times.

Adult supervision matters

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times while in the parking lot.

Morning drop-off

Morning car line is meant to move efficiently while keeping students safe and ready for the school day. A little preparation before you reach the drop-off zone helps the line move much more smoothly.

Be ready to unload

Children should be ready to exit the vehicle when they arrive at the drop-off zone. Please do not wait until you pull forward to put on shoes or gather supplies.

Exit only in the drop-off zone

If you are not at the drop-off zone in front of the school, your children should not exit the vehicle.

Let patrols help

Safety patrols are available to help children get to class. After the first week of school, families are asked not to walk children down the hallway. If you need to speak with a teacher, please schedule a conference.

Wait before pulling away

Do not begin to pull away from car line until all children are safely on the other side of the barrier.

Afternoon pickup

Afternoon pickup should stay simple, visible, and focused on safety. These steps help us dismiss students well and avoid confusion at the end of the school day.

Display your family nametag

Family nametags must hang from the rearview mirror during pickup.

Wait until 3:15 for parking lot pickup

Students may not walk to the parking lot until 3:15 PM, and they must be accompanied by an adult.

Keep pickup focused

Please refrain from talking with teachers during pickup, since that can distract them from ensuring student safety.
